If These Cars Could Talk: 1927 Duesenberg Model X Dual-Cowl Phaeton

Join us for an in-depth look at the many automobiles in our collection and discover their part in our history. If These Cars Could Talk is a monthly program offered by museum staff for free to the public on the first Saturday of each month.

This Duesenberg Model X is one of 13 chassis that were built, of which only five remain as a finished automobile. Of the original 13 Duesenberg Model X’s built, two were believed to be phaetons, and this is the only remaining example. The prototype Model X’s were designed to keep the Duesenberg name in the public eye while the team at Duesenberg, Inc. perfected the upcoming Model J.  Through these prototype examples, one can see the direction that the designers and engineers were taking with the Model J.

This presentation will be held in the museum galleries next to the car from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 and is offered to all patrons for free with museum admission. For more information, including the specific location of the presentation, please call ahead at 260-925-1444 or see an associate at the admission desk.
